About this product
Novalk 951 is the insurance coat. A clear water-based isolator that locks down tannin, knots, water marks and the residue on old finishes so they can't migrate through a white system. It goes on first, under 917B primer, and turns a risky door into a routine one.
Where it fits. Oak, cherry, mahogany and knotty pine before a white finish; previously finished cabinetry with unknown history; anything that has already bled through a primer once. On clean, sound work it is not needed; 917B alone blocks normal tannin.
Mixing. Use it 1K straight from the can. For more adhesion and blocking on difficult substrates, catalyze at 10% by volume:
- NCW-80: about 1 hour of pot life
- NCW-105 long pot life: roughly 2 hours
Application. One even coat, sprayed, then 917B on top once dry. Sprays with the same setups as the primer.
Interior use. Water clean-up. 5 KG.
