White Water Based Anti Scratch 2K Topcoat

Novalk 982 is the hard one. A true 2K white topcoat with anti-scratch properties, high chemical resistance and excellent coverage, for kitchens, baths and commercial casework that get scrubbed. It is self-sealing on sound finishes, hangs well on verticals, and dries fast. About 43% solids, roughly 35 g/L VOC. Meets or exceeds KCMA standards for heat and humidity, cold check, chemical resistance and film swell.

Where it fits. The step up from 932 or 934 when durability is the priority: high-traffic kitchens, rental and multifamily units, restaurant and medical casework. Over 917B primer on raw or stained wood.

Mixing. 982 must be catalyzed; there is no 1K option. Add 15% hardener by volume, slowly, while drill-mixing at low speed:

• NCW-80: about 3 hours of pot life, shorter in a hot shop
• NCW-105 long pot life: about 4 hours

Application. Surface, product and air above 54°F.

• Airless: 308 or 408 fine-finish tip at 1,700 to 2,200 psi
• HVLP: 4- or 5-stage turbine minimum, 1.8 or 2.0 needle, reduce 5 to 10% with warm water if needed

Interior use. Low VOC, zero emissions, water clean-up. Sheens 5 (matte) through 90 (gloss). White base, tintable.
