Thixo Clear Water Based Self Sealer 1K/2K Topcoat

Novalk 934 is the production clear: durable, fast-drying, and self-sealing, with enough body to hold on a vertical door. Where 932 is the heavier-bodied coverage topcoat, 934 is the everyday clear that turns doors around quickly. About 40% solids. Meets or exceeds KCMA standards for heat and humidity, cold check, chemical resistance and film swell.

Where it fits. Clear-coated cabinetry, furniture and trim in a shop that needs doors dust-free fast and stackable the same day. Sprays, brushes or rolls.

Mixing. 1K straight from the can, or 2K with 5% hardener by volume for extra mar and chemical resistance:

• NCW-80: about 3 hours of pot life
• NCW-105 long pot life: about 4 hours

Application. Apply at 4 to 6 wet mils with surface, product and air above 54°F; colder than that and the viscosity climbs sharply. Two coats is the normal schedule, with a light 320-grit sand between.

• Airless: 308 or 408 fine-finish tip at 1,600 to 2,100 psi, usually no reduction
• HVLP: 4- or 5-stage turbine minimum, 1.8 or 2.0 needle, reduce 3 to 10% with water as needed
• Brush or roll: add 5 to 10% 1034 flow additive or reduce 10% with water; brush, then back-roll with a mohair roller

Dry times at 4 to 6 wet mils: dust-free 15 minutes, handle 30 minutes, overcoat 1 hour, stackable 8 to 10 hours.

Interior use. Low VOC, zero emissions, water clean-up. Sheens 5 through 50.
